District Board

Supervisors are respected conservation leaders elected by county residents to represent them in directing soil and water conservation and natural resources management in Delaware County. Board members are elected to a three-year term as public officials and serve without pay.  Elections occur at the Annual Meeting.

Fleming
 
Chairperson

Mary is a RN and serves as Agricultural Health Coordinator at Grady Memorial Hospital.  Mary, her husband Bob, and four children own and operate Ideal Jersey Farm in Brown Township. Farm conservation practices include crop rotation, grassed waterways, no-tillage and an animal waste storage facility and management system.  Mary has served as a SWCD Supervisor since 1998.



Sue Cunningham
Vice-Chair

Sue, husband Phil, and daughter, Trish, are partners in Scioto Farms and Troyton Grain Inc.  They are currently utilizing conservation tillage, grassed waterways, subsurface and surface drainage, and a complete manure management plan.  Sue teaches nutrition at Marion Technical College.  She serves on the Delaware County Farm Bureau Board and the Ohio Pork Council Women.



Ted
Colflesh
 
Secretary/Fiscal Agent

Ted is a partner with JELAWR Family Farms in Brown Township. He has two children. Practicing soil conservation and systematic tile drainage, they produce corn, soybeans and wheat with conventional and reduced tillage systems. They also have a hog operation. Ted has served as a SWCD Supervisor since 1987.



Steven L. Sheets
Member

Steve and his wife Linda own and operate Sheets Farms, a 1500 acre grain and feeder cattle operation in Kingston Township. Steve has used no-tillage and subsurface drainage to enhance his conservation farming operation. Steve has served as a SWCD Supervisor since 1991



Jim
Sherman

Member
  .Jim Sherman, his wife Denise, and two sons own and operate a corn, soybean, and wheat grain farm in Porter Township.  No-tillage, grassed waterways, and systematic subsurface drainage are part of Jim's conservation plan.  Jim is also a U.S. Postal Service Rural Route Carrier.  Jim has served as a Delaware SWCD Supervisor since 1985.
